The track conditions in Sydney weren’t exactly ideal for fast times as it was sooo cold, 13deg. mean’t for a good warm up. my first race was the 500mtr TT, was never my best event, in fact up untill this event i had never medalled in the 500mtr tt. I was 1 sec off my PB so really didn’t expect to win, it took a while to sink in. I was seriously stoked to win as my starting laps are alway a bit slower than most other peoples due to my missing hand.
The next race was the 2km pursuit, one of my favoured races, i qualified fastest by 3 seconds, had a great ride, perhaps a gear too big in the cold, decided to go down a gear for the final doing exactly the same time, however my opponent pulled something out of the bag to go 4 seconds faster than qualifing and beat me by a second.
One of my highlights was the 19km road TT, very windy and technical which is not idea for me, i had a blast and rode as hard as i could beating all the kiwis and getting 5th behind 3 Australians and an American.
Thanks to Paul, Tracey and the team at AvantiPlus for all their help and support.
