Mountain Girl Conquers Road

Parihaka Mountain bike member Chubby Hale won the Northland 2009 road race championship on Sunday competing in the AvantiPlus Fred Ogle 110k road race

Fighting off a strong challenge from Sam Warriner and Kim Reyburn ,. It came right down to the to the final sprint with Hale winning by a second in a time of 3hours 16 minutes and 52 seconds. Riding for Robinson Asphalts Hale received the “ Lynley MacDonald Trophy” for the fastest woman.” It was a fitting tribute for Ross her father who works at Robinson Asphalts in memory of Lynley” Hale said. It is now back to training for the mountain biker as she now prepares for Taupo in 3 weeks.
Chubby was very happy with her win and would like to thank Paul and Tracey from AvantiPlus and also to Roy as her SUB Bike performed flawlessly!!
