Team Avanti Training Update
Team Training #2
This weekends plan was to ride with our two Auckland teammates Tim H and Nic, and get familiar with Stage 4 of the Tour.
On Saturday we got dropped off about 10km from the end of Stage 3 to get familiar with this finale. Then we got the ferry over to Russell and rode back down to Whangarei into a strong headwind. Thanks again to Hitomi for being our driver.
Darren rode out to meet us just north of Oakura, it seems that he wanted to go over Helena Bay hill twice! Tom was at the Triathlon National Champs in Wellington coming 2nd in his age group. Tim R had other matters to attend and Kevin has decided to drop back a group to be a big fish in a small sea.
The feeling was good after the ride and Nic took the chance to get to know Otaika Road a bit better. It’s great to feel the enthusiasm from the guys. We’re ready to give it heaps on Thursday!!
